A friend of mine saw them in 1972 at Hornchurch Grammar School. They'd booked them for the school dance before they became successful but by the time it arrived their first album was already out.
Support was from.... Supertramp!

I had my 1st wank to one of their album covers.
Granted the bird had a bra on but you could see a bit of nip through it.

Saw them at tower of london a few years back.
It absolutely pissed down and there was a free wine tent (lethal south african stuff).
Got soaked and pissed. Concert was decent.

Remember watching this Old Grey Whistle Test performance of Ladytron when I was at school. Thought it was petty weird, especially Bryan Ferry's drugged eyes. Andy Mackay great on this.

In a Miss World or Universe contest, some years ago, Brian Ferry was the half time entertainment, and he achieved the worst ever singing performance I have ever heard. He made Burt Bacharach sound like Placido Domingo. It was that awful.

Avalon is a cracking album and the track The Main Thing is a belter
Eno was ok but much better as a solo artist, and Phil is a great guitarist

Re: Roxy Music

I once visited Phil Manzanera's house. He allowed me to wear those "Fly" glasses and play his red Gibson Firebird. Fact.
"More Than This"and "Same Old Scene"... Better after Eno, he was just a theorist who added little.

Re: Roxy Music

roxy music became a different band when Eno left, in much the same way Genesis did when Gabriel left, still half decent, but without the edge.
both became MOR acts.
